A wish for the new year
Hopes, goals, and intention for 2026
In 2026 we’re going somewhere. Anywhere. We’re walking out the door without knowing exactly what the day will bring and it makes us more alive. We’re looking. We’re the main character, yes each of us, because this cinematic universe has more than one film.
In 2026 we’re reaching out. We’re checking in. We’re slowing down and looking forward. The directions are as follows: Identify, Process, Plan, then Act. With time and space for just being alive in all the ways we know how.
In 2026 we should hang out! We’re preparing a meal and sitting down together. We’re breaking bread. We’re chewing slow and enjoying every bit. Or we don’t have to “do” anything! We’re committing these moments to memory because it’s so rare we get together like this.
In 2026 we’re seeking balance: Between joy and fear, have and have not, freedom and “freedom,” which are not the same. We’re doing what we can to leave this place better than we found it, which honestly wouldn’t take much if we stop to try.
In 2026 we’re committing to the bit, and the real joke is that we might actually really want something new for ourselves enough to go for it. Change, haha! Healing, jk! …Unless??

This year flew by in my world. I worked hard in new ways (and was subsequently tired in new ways). I felt more fulfilled than I have in a while. I visited a new country (South Korea). Mitchell and I celebrated 13 years together, my dog turned 5, and my store turned 1. Time marches on. One patch of my beard is starting to go gray. Ultimately I feel grateful to have survived a year that was so hard for so many.
One goal for myself in 2026 is to feel connected in a more tangibly “real” way than has felt possible online lately. To stuff envelopes, apply stamps, and send more mail personally than I have in the past few years.
So I’m returning to my “SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO” project, a surprise mix of art, cards, letters, etc, delivered throughout the year. 8 pieces of mail for $40 (includes all fees and postage from me to you). Membership is limited because I’ve already ordered prints for the first mailing.
I also want to mention that code GIFT takes 10% off a $50 order from AdamJK.com (excluding the mail club). We can ship my art, books, and thoughtful little trinkets directly to your friends and family with your gift message.
I’ll see some of you in your mailbox in a few weeks, and to everyone else, I am wishing you happy holidays and a good start to the new year – whatever that means for you.

Adam, you are and always will be an absolute treasure. You bring so much joy to me - and I’m sure many many other people.
I'm with you on the feeling connected in a more tangibly “real” way than has felt possible online lately. Death to AI everything and rebirth to the essence of real human connection.
